  • SEP SBE Transition to SESE in June

    First, we would like to thank you for your patience as we developed  the process for transitioning your current Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud (SEP Cloud) or Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition (SEP SBE) offering to Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise (SESE). With this process in place, we will begin the transition in June. While straight-forward, the transition process is not automated or forced. You will need to perform the transition yourself. While you take the steps necessary to transition, your SEP Cloud or your SEP SBE deployment will continue to work and protect your devices.
    License Extension
    If your license has an expiration date between 1 NOV 2019 and 30 OCT 2020, we have extended your license of SEP Cloud or SEP SBE to 31 OCT 2020 to allow more time for the transition. If your license has an expiration date after 31 OCT 2020, there is no change.   

    New SESE Entitlement
    In June, we will automatically create a new SESE entitlement for you, and you will receive an email with all the information you need to get started with SESE. In that email, you will see your Enterprise Site ID and your contract number. Make a note of these two identifiers as you may need them as you transition. You will also find the same information on the Support portal, from where you can raise a case, should you need any assistance with your transition.     The subscription for SESE is based on devices only. If you purchased your current product subscription based on devices, we will give you the same number of devices that you currently have. If you purchased your current product subscription based on users, we will give you five licenses for every user. 

    Your new SESE subscription will protect laptops, mobile devices with all operating systems, and servers. If you bought the SEP Cloud Server SKU, we will give you the same number of SESE licenses to replace it. If you purchased your current product with an Encryption add-on, there is no exact replacement. However, we’ll give you a new SESE license for every add-on you’ve purchased.

  • Just a note. It may be too late for some people though. If you remove the workstations from the SEP cloud manager and reboot the computers, most of the time, it comes up clean enough for SES to install and you can delete the Symantec.cloud program files ...
