As executive vice president and group executive of the Customer Solutions Group, David Dobson is responsible for managing the company’s broad portfolio of products and solutions for mainframe, distributed and cloud computing environments. He is also a member of the company’s Executive Management Team.
Together with the Technology and Development Group, the Customer Solutions Group ensures a steady stream of innovative products that meet the needs of our customers. David and his team also work with the company's Worldwide Sales and Operations to ensure that we effectively deliver our products to the marketplace. With responsibility for the financial success of the Customer Solutions Group, David plays a key role in driving end-to-end accountability and performance in established and emerging markets.
Prior to joining CA Technologies, David served as president of Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI). In addition to overseeing PBMS’ commercial and international business, he was responsible for the division’s Legal Solutions, which focused on the top 200 law firms, and its Government Solutions group, which served the U.S. Postal Service and key U.S. government agencies. During his tenure at PBI, David served as executive vice president and chief strategy and innovation officer, where he was responsible for leading the development of the company’s long-term strategy and ensuring innovation was closely linked to these priorities.
Previously, David was chief executive officer of Corel Corporation. During his three years at Corel, the company grew revenue 20% year over year, and increased profits by more than 30% each year. In 2006, he was instrumental in the steering the company’s successful initial public offering.
Before joining Corel in 2005, David spent 19 years at IBM, where he held a number of senior management positions.
He serves on the board of International Decision Systems, a privately held software company.
David graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, with degrees in electrical engineering and management.
