A twenty year computer industry veteran, Chris Stoneley joined CA in 2008 as a Principal Consultant for the GRC business unit. He started his career by founding his own consulting services company in Scotland while pursuing his Bachelor’s degree at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. After graduation, he developed applications for one of Europe’s oldest law firms, and soon after immigrated to California to join Candle Corporation.
At Candle, Chris consulted across a broad spectrum of industries and became a leading trainer. Before the firm was acquired by IBM, he was promoted to manage such blue chip accounts as American Express, Charles Schwab, Farmers, Motorola, and Southern California Edison.
Chris then joined Treasury Bank, at the time a recent acquisition of Countrywide Financial Corporation. As the bank rapidly expanded into a $100-billion operation, Chris brought fifteen years of experience to bear in an early Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance project. As a result, he was then promoted to the SOX Governance Office for the parent company, where he designed and implemented an enterprise GRC solution, and ran the Information Technology aspects of SOX for the enterprise for several years.
