As we move into 2013, it is time to make resolutions for the New Year and, of course, my annual predictions for technology. This year, my abridged version appeared in Business2Community as part of their "The Future of Enterprise IT: 30 Executives Share Their 2013 Predictions" feature. My predictions include: the successful use of Big Data for business outcomes and value, the acceleration of the usual consumerization of IT, the rate and pace of change and the proliferation of and dependence on technology for business, and most importantly the continuing growth of IT development and use outside of IT.

One prediction is a certainty: the dependence on IT for business will not decline.
