Unless you have been enjoying the extreme heat in North America on the beach, or preparing for the Olympics, or are totally without connectivity you will be aware that change is hitting us all from all directions at a pace that is ever increasing. With access anywhere, anytime, information is hitting us from everywhere. Sitting on a flight recently, I noticed that almost half the plane had a Tablet or Smartphone and the rush to obtain internet access as soon as the plane reached 10,000 feet including myself was extreme.
With the acceleration of emerging technologies, such as Cloud computing, virtualization of everything, iPads, iPods, Android devices, Cyber-attacks, and security, technology advances and challenges alone are not the only new changes on the horizon. The new "digital natives" generation is hitting the workforce and is being joined by increasing compliance requirements. And let's not forget the exponentially growing demand for automation!
As the business continues to demand more innovation, agility, immediate delivery along with reduced costs, life as an IT professional is becoming increasingly complex!
