Great news! The public comment period for COBIT 5 has been extended to 18 September, allowing practitioners time to examine the guidance and provide feedback to review the ISACA guidance. Having been personally involved in the development of COBIT, public comment is a critical step in the process of creating ISACA guidance.  Your comments assist ISACA in validate the quality and acceptability development work, which is critical to positioning the publication as a reference source. Don't feel obligated to comment on the whole publication, as commenting on all or specific parts of the draft is welcome.

The COBIT 5 Public Exposure Draft exists of two documents:

COBIT 5: the Framework: This foundational COBIT volume introduces the following, which combine to provide a comprehensive, effective framework to support the governance and management of enterprise information and related technology:

  • Principles
  • Drivers
  • Benefits
  • Enablers

Process Reference Guide: incorporates and is the successor to COBIT 4.1, Val IT and Risk IT processes. It describes the:

  • Goals cascade
  • Process model
  • Process reference model
  • Detailed processes

You can download both documents at www.isaca.org/cobit5exposure. Remember your comments are critical and the deadline for input is September 18, 2011.
