Governing and Managing the Operational Environment With COBIT and ITIL

Almost 10 years ago I started delivering a session called "COBIT and ITIL, competitive or complimentary?"  The session was prefaced on the premise that some had shared with me that the frameworks were competitive, we all know that they are not and they have differing roles in an organization.  Since I first started speaking there is agreement almost universally that the two frameworks used together offer organizations significant value in governing and managing operational environments.  In the ISACA publication, COBIT Focus Issue 4 October 2010, I shared some insight into using the frameworks together for real value.
