Have you ever started on a project at work and after a period of time simply lost sight of the destination or simply found it too hard and moved on to something else?  With so many rapid changes in computing including cloud, virtualization, changing user demands and requirements, governance and compliance requirements, it stands to reason that you could lose your momentum.  Next week in Manila there is no chance of this at the 2010 Manila ISACA conference where the theme is "keeping the pace." The sessions are centered around practical advice for computing professionals on how to keep the momentum in this fast paced world.

I will be delivering two speeches at the event, the first the keynote, "The Future of IT Governance" will discuss the current industry trends and how IT must rapidly transition to a nimble and innovative organization that can scale to meet the business demands.  The session will cover in detail the risk and rewards as well as the requirement for IT to embrace technologies such as cloud and virtualization and how governance can be leveraged as an enabler.

My second session, "Implementing and Continually Improving IT Governance" will provide practical guidance on "how" to deliver governance leveraging the ISACA publication by the same name.  This practical publication provides information to practitioners on how to use the ISACA COBIT, VALIT and RISKIT frameworks together and is available free of charge to ISACA members or at a minimal cost for non-members.

So if you are in the vicinity of Manila April 20 or 21 why not invest some of your time and money immersing yourself in the educational banquet and more importantly, networking with, and learning from your peers!
