Many IT organizations are in the process of cutting costs and people while implementing technology to dramatically reduce their operational cost basis. This idea was reinforced in India last week where my meetings with multiple CIOs of Indian IT organizations confirmed that they too are reducing operational costs. They're doing so to allow additional resources to be invested in innovation and growth using virtualization and automation with strong investments in tools to assist them in their execution.
At the ISACA Asia Pacific conference in Mumbai last week there was significant interest in governance and the keynote session I delivered at the conference on the traps I have experienced in my travels with many Indian organizations relating to the opportunities and challenges of governing their environments. More details on the session are available in the article that ran in the Indian publication Express Computer Online and is available on their website.
More on my Indian visit shortly.
