ITIL is 20 years old! A celebration is planned for the itSMF UK conference to be held in Birmingham Monday November 9th and 10th. The developments in the various ITIL publications are representative of the changing nature of "good practice" in the industry. Part of this ongoing development is the current process of updating the guidance based on the change requests submitted by the community which will be delivered according to the recently released "Mandate for Change".
I have been speaking to many of you about the proposed changes to ITIL and many of you have expressed interest in volunteering as a potential author or reviewer, well, here is your opportunity. After consultation with the itSMF, the OGC have issued an open "Call for Participants" for authors and reviewer, your chance to get involved.
PS: if you are at the UK Conference this week come and see my session "Can I have cheese with my burger please" which in 40 minutes will demystify the Service Catalog. As for me I am off for some good old English Fish n Chips!
