Next week will be my 3rd time presenting at the itSMF New Zealand conference and I'm honoured to be selected again and looking forward to meeting with practitioners locally.
The theme of the conference is "cost effective recipes for success", a topic that I have blogged on recently and it is front of mind in today's economy realising the full benefits of IT. Cutting back the trimmings and applying lean thinking to IT. From the perspective of Information Technology we should be looking at ways to prove our value in business terms, automating service delivery to reduce costs and wisely investing in the organisation's future.
I will be presenting on all 3 days at the event:
Day 1 - ValIT Workshop:
VALIT is an ISACA framework that assists organisations in realising value from their investments in Technology Enabled Business Change and will be an interactive and fun session (no need to bring your calculator).
Day 2 - Leadership Debate - Ingredients for delivering value through ITSM.
I will be on a panel with Sharon Taylor (President itSMFI), Ivor McFarlane (IPSEC Chair), Peter Cross (President itSMF Australia), Rob England (ITSkeptic) and Cheryl Tóvizi (President itSMF NZ). Getting a word in will be a challenge for sure!
Day 2 - Keynote Governance for your ITSM implementation
The session will discuss driving value with effective measurements and metrics to ensure integration of Business priorities with IT.
Day 3 - ITSM Top Gun - learn what the best of the best do.
This session I am delivering for my colleague Peter Doherty (although I am not sure i can emulate his style) and will provide practical experience of what makes great ITSM professionals great (and maybe a little that doesn't).
The event starts on Monday May 11, 2009 and there is still time to register for the event, simply visit the conference website.
Dont forget to follow me on Twitter at where I will be giving regular updates on the event.
