After much work by the COBIT Steering Committee, the long awaited guide to assist service managers is available understanding and implementing governance using COBIT and ITIL is avaialable The guide provides practical guidance of how to use COBIT and ITIL together to provide a top-to-bottom approach to IT governance, including service management and is supported by the itSMF. The guidance is quite detailed and includes assistance on how to get started and additionally provides information the key activities of a service manager such as;
- ITIL V3 processes with the corresponding COBIT 4.1 control objectives
- Corresponding ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 references
- Roles and responsibilities for a generic range of role players expressed in a Service management RACI
- And much more….
