Mainframe 2.0: The Book

It's here!

After months of work with an outstanding team of contributors, we've created the first edition of a book about CA's Mainframe 2.0 strategy and its practical relevance.

That includes a review of the various components and aspects of our strategy.

It also includes a delineation of the various roles relevant to the mainframe environment, how they interact, what their responsibilities tend to be and what mainframe management solutions are relevant to them.

All of which is an appetizer for what comes next: an introduction to every one of CA's z/OS products, describing what sort of product it is, who uses it, and what it does in the context of Mainframe 2.0.

Finally, there's dessert: a selection of additional contents to make for an even more enjoyable read.

Best of all, the books are now available.

Just one thing: you can't buy them.

But you can get a copy for free from your personal CA contact, whether that's an account manager or director, or a customer solutions contact, or the person who did your MVP review, or even me if I'm a main contact point with CA for you. (My email address at ca dot com is Reg.)

So, go ahead: request your copy from your CA contact, and if they don't know about it yet, tell them to ask me about it and I'll make sure they have a copy for you.

And enjoy!

Reg, I recently accepted a position with a mainframe shop. I have a distributed computing background in the UNIX and Windows world and have long dismissed any viable consideration for mainframes until I was tasked to compile System Security Plans for proposed Mainframe migtrations based upon the NIST technical controls; so I have been reading all the documentation that I can find (which is limited) about MF's and have decided that they are the direction I want my career path to take. I would love to find a copy of THE BOOK but I do not have any contacts at CA. What can I do?
