We just concluded a great week at CA World 2010.
Based on so many customer comments, the event was a great success and it was unlike any previous CA World. The "new CA" message was loud and clear in more ways than one. From the name change (CA, Inc. Has a New Name: CA Technologies) to the highly rated Maroon 5 concert to several announcements about cloud, virtualization and automation, I am sure attendees from more than 60 countries will agree that this was a highly successful event.
On the virtualization and service automation front, we made major announcements about new solutions for virtualization management as well as support for Cisco UCS. We also had several exciting sessions from existing customers on how they benefit from CA solutions in virtualization management and automation.
Most virtualization vendors were present to participate in sessions, discussing their technologies. We also had exciting exchange among major hypervisor vendors (VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat, Citrix and Oracle) and others like Cisco in vendor panels. In addition, the CA Technologies team did dedicated sessions and events with partners to find new ways to collaborate and bring useful virtualization management offerings to market.
More importantly it was the event that we hope changed the perception of CA Technologies as a traditional infrastructure management or mainframe tools company. CA Technologies has made major investments (both through organic development as well as acquisitions) to become a key player in cloud computing and virtualization management.
And ultimately, it is not about CA Technologies but what the company's solutions achieve for our customers. In these challenging yet transformational times, customers are increasingly looking for new paradigms to leverage IT. The onus is on vendors like CA Technologies who have been a trusted technology partner for the last thirty years to help navigate these new challenges and make a lasting impact in how IT creates value for businesses.
Signing off from Vegas....let's take the well deserved weekend off so we can be ready to roll again come Monday.
